QuackByQuarriers app for iPhone and iPad

Quack - Quarriers App of Carers Knowledge provides valuable help and information to Young Carers in Aberdeenshire. Most Young Carers lead very busy lives, with little time for themselves. Many only having limited availability to the internet, having very poor or no access at home. Those that do have mobile data having small amounts and this allowance is precious to them. They neither have the time nor the resource to spend on finding the information that they need to help them care for the family member that they provide help and support to. This app provides some of the information and guidance that they need, without them spending their valuable time and resources to find them. Providing information to help them in their day to day tasks and providing guiding and those all important contact details should something go wrong.

The app also has a "quick" To Do list maker. To help the young carers manage their day to day caring, household and personal tasks.

The app was designed by young carers and the content, chosen by them, is the content they most wanted in the app and that they felt they most needed to access on a daily basis. Having access to the information without the need to search the internet means that they have instance access when needed and do not have to worry about having online access or having to use any of the precious mobile data resource.

The app requires no sign in and collects no personal data. Both were important aspects of any app to the young carers. The app will not be promoted out-with Quarriers Young Carers and, whilst we did not want to restrict anyone else from using the app, it is intended only to be used by Quarriers Young Carers.
